Mobile service and pickup calls
Mobile service, valet and pickup-and-delivery calls: what Cleo books and what your team arranges
Some callers do not want to drive to the shop. They want the technician at their door, or the car collected and brought back. On one scheduler workflow Cleo asks for the caller’s address and access details and reads back an arrival window. Valet and pickup and delivery stay with your team.

The short answer
Can an AI phone agent book mobile service or arrange a pickup?
Mobile service, where your scheduler workflow has it. Cleo asks whether the caller wants the shop or mobile service and books the visit into the scheduler.
Pickup, delivery and valet are different. Cleo does not dispatch a driver or arrange a valet, because no tool or workflow of Cleo has a driver or dispatch step. Staff arrange those.
The mobile service call
Six steps from the caller's address to the booked window.
Shop or mobile.
Cleo asks whether the caller wants to bring the car into the shop or use mobile service.
The address.
For mobile service Cleo asks what address to send the technician to, keeps it exactly as the caller says it, and will not check availability before it has one.
Access details.
If the caller mentions a gate code, a driveway, a parking spot or where the vehicle will be, Cleo saves that as instructions and passes it to the booking.
Open times.
Cleo checks the times the scheduler returns for that address. If a mobile slot has an end time, Cleo offers it as an arrival window.
The booking.
Cleo books the slot the caller picks and, when the slot has an arrival window, reads the window back in place of a single time.
If it does not work.
When no time is open, Cleo offers a callback. When the booking fails, it says the service team will finish it and creates a callback task with the details it collected.

Why callers ask
Owners say they are interested.
In Cox Automotive's 2025 Service Industry Study, 51% of vehicle owners were interested in the dealership picking up their vehicle for service and delivering it back, and 43% were interested in a technician doing the service at their home.
Interest in a survey is not a count of the calls your own line will get, and the study does not measure any phone agent. Ask your advisors how often they hear the question before you decide how much of it to plan for.
After the call
What your team gets, and what to decide first.
01 · The new time first, then the old one comes off.
On the reschedule workflow the same questions apply, shop or mobile, the address and the access details. Cleo books the new appointment first. Only after that succeeds does it create a task for staff to cancel the original, and it tells the caller the service team will remove the old appointment.
It does not tell the caller the original is canceled, because it has only created a task. If the new booking fails, the original stays in place and your team gets a callback task.
02 · What a store can switch off, and what staff keep.
A store can turn Mobile Service off. When it is off, a mobile request is refused and only shop appointments are booked. The refusal tells Cleo that for mobile service or pickup and delivery the service team has to help.
On workflows with a transportation step, when the caller picks a loaner, shuttle, valet, rental or pick-up option, Cleo books the appointment and tells the caller the service team will follow up to arrange it. Staff arrange the vehicle or the pickup.
So the line between Cleo and your team is simple. Cleo takes the address and the time, and your team decides who drives, when the car is collected and where it comes back to.
Mobile service and pickup are an operations decision before they are a phone decision. Cleo can take the address and book the slot, and your team still needs the technician and the driver.
03 · Five questions for your service manager.
1. Does your store offer mobile service, and through which scheduler?
2. Who arranges a valet or a pickup today, and how does the caller reach them?
3. What access details does a technician need at a customer’s door?
4. Which days and hours can the mobile technician take a visit?
5. What should a caller hear when your store does not offer it?
